Paula, I had to have my wedding ring cut off a few years ago, but I took that and my engagement ring to a jewellers and had them made bigger. It didn't cost much and I can wear them now.

When I started having problems with my right hand I took a ring to the jewellers to see how much it would cost to have it made bigger, at the time I must of been still able to wear my wedding ring. It needed to be made several sizes bigger and I was told that they couldn't stretch it that much and some gold would have to be put in. I can't remember exactly how much I was quoted but it was over £100. I think after reading what you've all put I might go and get some more quotes.

I've got my husbands grandmothers wedding ring. I've tried it on and it is a bit too big, I have thought about wearing it, I would need to buy a dress ring to put over the top to keep it on, but I don't know if I would feel comfortable wearing it.

Hi Paula,

I took my rings to a small independant jeweller, I think the big chains like H. Samuel would charge more.

Hi Paula,

Just trying (aimlessly, it will never happen!) to catch up on here and read your post re MTX.

I've been meaning to suggest for ages to take Milk Thistle with your MTX....it is THE liver protector and cleanses toxins from the liver.

I took it faithfully every day whilst I was on the MTX, and you know how much I love to imbibe.......... I will be ordering a new batch when I begin popping soon....

Anyway, I hope injecting the MTX helps attack the RA better.

I also wanted to add that I feel exactly the same regarding anti-tnfs- they are something I have shied away from for years, and my rheumy is now mentioning them more and more.

He is also mentioning hip replacements in the next five years too.....not good listening, I always need a large glass of red after seeing him, much as I think the world of him!LOL

Amanda
